There was no detailed account for the charges in my PPH Notifications, just an invoice stating 'admin' fees and the total. Additionally, the 'admin' fee I was charged was taken in one lump sum and did not match any of the monthly 'admin fee' charges listed in their T&Cs. Between the commission fee and 'admin' fees, PPH took all of the money I had paid in for the job. I then discovered that PeoplePerHour had taken the remainder of my expected refund in 'admin' charges. PPH completely ignored my recent query about why I had been charged a fee for a job as a buyer. No commission was ever charged on any of my successful freelancer purchases. I had then been charged a 10% fee on the job that was refunded. I didn't use PPH for two years, so when I recently logged in, I discovered, under 'Notifications' that I had received my refund, over a month later than the job. I had no idea that I had a wallet, or that the refund had not gone back to my card.

PeoplePerHour then took all the money I'd paid through a 10% commission fee (as a buyer!?!?!) and nefarious 'admin' fees. PeoplePerHour transferred my refunded money into a PeoplePerHour wallet instead of refunding the money directly back to my payment card.

I assumed that the money I'd paid into escrow would be returned to my debit card as that was how I'd paid, but refunds back into a bank account / onto a card ARE NOT AUTOMATIC with PeoplePerHour. When I requested a refund from PeoplePerHour due to a freelancer not delivering decent work, I never saw my money again. In summary, I'd say.BUYER BEWARE! You have ZERO peace of mind commissioning freelancers with PeoplePerHour. Work with freelancers from any country in the world - if there is an issue, we'll help you fix it.' That's a great couple of lines for peace of mind, but the reality isn't quite this.
